I'm a trans woman and a tech writer, and for the past six years I've written about dating apps, online communities and, more recently, AI companions. I joined Best AI GF Apps in 2025 because most reviews of these apps never check whether a trans character is actually supported or just tolerated by the filter.

My testing focuses on the details that matter to trans users and the people who want trans companions: what the character creator really lets you build, how the model handles identity and pronouns over long chats, where the content filters draw lines, and how the images hold up. I write plainly about the limits, because a feature list on a landing page is not the same as a feature that works.
